Description

This program is designed to allow you to easily give your digital images meaningful names, and record information about them in text files.

Renaming is as simple as typing the new name then hitting Enter. A drop down list stores previously used names so you can recall them when you want to give several files similar names.

Text can be entered in the text box under the image. The text is saved in a file with the same name as the image but a ".txt" extension. Using text files means the information is easily readable by many different programs on many different platforms. It avoids the problem of losing information that is "hidden" inside the image file. When you use Picnam to move, copy or rename images, Picnam will keep the text file with the image file.

As you go through a folder of pictures, you can choose pictures to delete, or move or copy to another directory.

JPEG, TIFF, BMP, GIF and PNG files are supported.

The program does not provide any photo editing functions. The only change Picnam makes to the image files is the name. However, you can open images in an external program for editing. This allows you to use your favorite image editor with Picnam.
